New! Subscribe to RSS

Did you know you can receive automatic updates when new content appears on this blog? It’s easy! Just subscribe to the RSS feed.

The letters stand for “Really Simply Syndication”. It is an internet technology that works behind the scenes to keep you up to date. Subscribing means to tell your web browser or e-mail program to check for new items automatically.

Here’s how to do it. At the bottom of the blog window you will find two links, “Entries (RSS)” and “Comments (RSS)”. Click one of these, and your browser should ask if you want to “Subscribe” to the page. Or, it might offer to create a bookmark.

Some browsers display an orange-colored icon up near the web address line when viewing a web page like this one that provides an RSS “feed.” Internet Explorer 7 or 8, and Firefox  3 do. Safari, maybe. Clicking this icon is another way to subscribe and start getting updates delivered to you automatically. You can see an example of this icon and learn more about RSS at this Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(protocol).

Sign up today, and let my blog do more of the work to keep you posted!
