Okay, I'll go first.

Government is like a really bad University Football Program; they show up for every game . . and lose 'em. Shake hands at the end, show what good sports they are, how much they love the game and care, and vow that next week . . . year . . . life . . . it will get better, but it doesn't. Each new generation is fresh fodder, so Government like Big Business (and Universities) often perpetuate the status quo because 'it's a great place to hide if you don't have a better idea and the talent to exercise it'. To recognize this organizational reality and not become resentful is political enlightenment. Not to recognize this reality is denial - the finest gift Government ever received from it's people.

El Ka-Bomma, what an appropriate caricature (although I don't believe El-Ka Bong smoked cigs), but I digress. Bless our President's little pea-picken' heart whatever his agenda. He is simply not capable of managing that with which he has been charged. At one time or another people reach for the stars and find themselves in over their heads. It can be a wonderful and valuable Life experience both painful and exhilarating. While President El Ka-bomma experiences his Life's lessons, Americans are in for some lessons of their own.

"Be prepared, that's the Boy Scout's marching song,
Be prepared as through life you'll march along.
Be prepared to hold your liquor pretty well,
Don't write naughty words on walls if you can't spell. . .
If you're looking for adventure of a new and different kind,
And you come across a Girl Scout who is similarly inclined,
Don't be nervous, don't be flustered, don't be scared . . . Be Prepared".
                                                                            Tom Lehrer

I loved this one--weird in a substantive, thoughtful, even provocative way.
And having squeezed more than few sponges prior to de-germing them in the microwave, I found it true as well.

okay, this has to be one of the weirder ramblings you've done. Is there a full moon? Sometimes your mind works in very unusual ways.

Society in every state is a blessing, but Government, even in its
best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one.

Whether personally or institutionally, societies are better served if this
lesson is learned. Might require a Representative Republic in it's infancy.
Our Dog is having trouble learning new tricks.

It would be nice to think that people can try for the greater good rather than only thinking of themselves, but that might be too much to hope for.
